I went to visit my “Aunt” Barb in Evergreen, Alabama and got to spend my 40th birthday with her.  My parents also extended their trip so that they could be with me for my birthday so we all drove over from Aiken, SC.  We all had a nice visit.  Thursday we departed and my parents headed home to Florida, while I went west.

While together with Barb, we did a little exploring and found the Claiborne Lock and Dam on the Alabama River, and the nearby campground.  She is in the process of selling her house and another house on her land and splitting up the acreage, so she had a lot on her mind and her to do list.  She showed us around the property and how they are dividing it up.  She has lived there for quite a few years but I had never been to visit her since she moved to Alabama.  She plans to move back to Florida when everything is finished.
